DCEO Entrepreneur's Challenge - $50,000 Grant
As part of DCEO's commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial companies in Illinois, the 2008 DCEO Entrepreneur's Challenge showcases eight seed stage businesses with business plans developed by a team that includes at least one member of its management team enrolled an Illinois university (graduate or undergraduate). The presenting teams are selected to participate by their parent universities.Each team has been coached by Dennis Serio and his Illinois Business & Investors Forum (ILBIF) network and delivers a plan in accordance with ILBIF guidelines.

University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign
Each team presents to a panel of ILBIF selected angel investors and venture capitalists who score each business plan based on likeliness of success based on the concept, the market and the team. The winner will be selected by a tally of scoring sheets from the panel. The team with the highest point score will be awarded a cash prize of $50,000 funded by DCEO to establish the business in Illinois.
