The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is a coalition of prominent corporations, academic institutions, and non-profits working to increase women's participation in IT and computing. NCWIT forms action-oriented alliances, including the Entrepreneurial Alliance, a rapidly growing group of start-up companies focused on increasing women technologists and leaders in start-up and emerging companies. http://www.ncwit.org/ea

From May 22-24, NCWIT will be hosting our Summit on Women and IT in Chicago. The Summit is an annual convention of NCWIT's member organizations, uniting hundreds of executives, educators, researchers, and change agents. Attendees hear leading-edge research, attend practical workshops, share ideas, and enjoy opportunities for partnering. http://www.ncwit.org/summit2012

On May 23rd, NCWIT will present the annual Symons Innovator Award, recognizing the importance of women’s participation in technology innovation and business. The award and reception is a gathering of corporate sponsors, Summit participants, and NCWIT community and hopes to inspire others to make their imprint in technology entrepreneurship. This year’s recipient will be Jessica Jackley, co-founder of Kiva. Previous winners include Kim Polese (2010) and Anousheh Ansari (2009).
