Mark Glennon

Mark Glennon is Managing Director at Ninth Street Advisors, providing consulting services to emerging companies on operations, business development and capital raising. From 2001 through June 2010, Mark made early stage venture investments at Leo Capital Holdings. Investments in which he actively participated included GrubHub, Starnet Interactive and FunMobility. He is a mentor at Excelerate Labs, an early stage incubator.  He is the IVCA Treasurer, a founding member of the IVCA, and a member of the IVCA Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.  He also co-chairs the association’s Research Committee.

In 1997, Mark founded the Illinois Venture Capital Conference, which successfully matched dozens of young companies to venture capital sources. In 1999, he co-founded TecPromote, a political action committee promoting technology, entrepreneurship and capital formation. He later merged both into the Illinois Venture Capital Association.

Mark initially practiced law, starting as an associate at Foley & Lardner, and subsequently was a partner at Johnson & Gibbs in Austin and Holleb & Coff in Chicago. He was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas Law School in Austin. He received his B.A. in Economics and Political Science at Northwestern University and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School where he won the Deinard Award for top law review contribution. He lives is suburban Chicago with his wife, son and daughter, and grew up in Park Forest, Illinois.
