IVCA Toolkit Luncheon Event:

"What Private Equity and Venture Capital Firms Need to Know About Dodd-Frank and New Investment Adviser Regulations"
September 14, 2010
11:30 - 1:30
Lunch included
Downtown Chicago (Please log-in to see location)
Whether you are new to investment adviser registration or have registered in the past, this event will provide your firm with useful tools to comply with current registration and regulatory requirements. Venture Capital and Private Equity firms were largely exempt from IA registration requirements thanks to the "Private Adviser" exemption. With the adoption of The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act his is no longer the case for many firms. Newly registered firms - and also firms that currently are registered - will be required to provide information in a new "brochure" form rather than the old Part II Q&A format, as well as comply with other recordkeeping, reporting, disclosure and compliance requirements. Hear from an experienced panel on how these changes and other provisions of Dodd-Frank may apply to your firm.
Panel will include:
- Wes Nissen, Winston & Strawn - will provide the Investment Advisers' Legal Counsel view
- Nell Blatherwick, RCP Advisors, will provide experience and perspective of a Registered Investment Adviser
- Ileana Stone, Bank of America, will provide insight on the impact of The Volcker Rule on PE funds and investment by Banking Entities
