March 9th IVCA Luncheon Event – Liquidity Through the Private MarketsMarch 2, 2011 IVCA will dive into the opportunities and issues around listing and buying private company stock. Private Markets including SharesPost, SecondMarket, GATE and Expert Financial have been in the press recently with well-known companies including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter listing on the markets and SEC scrutiny of the marketplaces.Danielle Hughes of Divine Capital Markets will provide an overview of the players and activity in the private market exchanges. Jeremy Smith, Chief Strategy Officer, SecondMarket will describe his company's marketplace: how it works, why it works and how it will expand to better serve the private equity investor in the coming months. Michael Gray of Neal, Gerber and Eisenberg will discuss his clients' experiences in these markets and current and looming regulatory issues that may impact investors' decision to participate.
