Seventh-Annual IVCA CFO Summit Attracts Crowd

CHICAGO - “ The IVCA presented the 7th Annual IVCA CFO Summit with presenting sponsor Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) on Oct. 18.

This annual event, which is offered for the benefit of venture capital and private equity firm CFOs and their staff, attracted almost 100 people in 2007. Bob Blee of SVB hosted a dinner the night before that was attended by out-of-state firms and some local CFOs.

The committee planning for the event first met in July and reviewed topic suggestions from participants at last year's summit. The topics were selected to be of interest to the greatest number of participants from both large and small firms.

They were designed to cover issues relevant for venture and buyout firms. The full-day event included presentations and panels covering:

  • Tax and accounting issues
  • Fund formation structuring issues and market terms update
  • Non-cash compensation
  • How to decide when it's time to implement IT

    The committee of CFOs planning the event and advising presenters on content were:

    In addition to SVB, participating sponsors included Mayer Brown, Mesirow Financial Insurance Services and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
