IVCA Provides Updates for State Legislative Issues 07/22/2026 - IVCA Targeted Bills Await Signature

IVCA TARGETED BILLS AWAIT SIGNATURE

Illinois legislators sent several bills of concern to IVCA members to the governor for his signature. As of this writing, none of the following have been signed into law, but that is expected at any moment:

CONTROLS ON PRIVATE EQUITY IN LAW FIRMS

ADDED PE DISCLOSURE IN HEALTH CARE TRANSACTIONS

DISCLOSURES OF PE OWNERSHIP OF MENTAL HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY COMMUNITIES

All three of these bills and several others which passed one chamber but not the other are indicative of national trends to scrutinize PE business practices and in many instances seek to ban, prohibit, limit, or force extensive disclosures of private investment.
